Update Regarding COVID-19 - (3/16/2020)
Regarding COVID-19
On March 12th Governor Gavin Newsom issued an executive order in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Short Version of the order allows for:
- At the discretion of the Employment Development Department waves the week waiting period for people who are unemployed/disabled as a result of COVID-19 for the duration of the emergency.
- Delays the deadline for state tax filing by 60 days for individuals and businesses unable to file on time based on compliance with public health requirements related to COVID-19.
- Allows the state to commandeer property for temporary residences and medical facilities for quarantining, isolating, or treating individuals.
- Allows local and state legislative bodies to hold meetings via teleconference and make meeting accessible electronically.
- Directs residents to follow the public health directives and recommendations regarding COVID-19.
Sunday March 15th, Governor Newsom held a Press Conference giving new health directives:
- Recommendation for all residents who have chronic illnesses or are over the age of 65 to self-quarantine at home.
- Recommendation for all bars, wineries, and brewpubs to close.
- Recommendation for all restaurants to halve their capacity and create the recommended six feet of distance between patrons.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released some helpful tips on how to protect yourself from the Virus, the website is https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html.
