Mandatory Training Required by January 1st 2021

The State of California Department of Fair Employment and Housing- GOVERNMENT CODE Section 12950.1. requires an employer having five (5) or more employees to provide one (1) hour of interactive training and education regarding sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention to all nonsupervisory employees in California once every two (2) years. The training and education shall include examples of harassment based on gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation, and shall be presented by trainers or educators with knowledge and expertise in those areas. The training deadline is January 1, 2021.


To meet the terms of this law, IMPACT developed a free online training course in English and Spanish to certify members are in compliance. Members can log into the IMPACT Safety Management Database System and complete the training by following the steps below:

2. Insert Member Number as Username & first four numbers of Social Security Number (Just the digits) as Password.

3. Select proper training module.

4. Accept disclaimer & take / complete the training.

5. Review training report card & print certificate.


Members who are currently employed by a signatory contractor, shall receive a $50.00 stipend from the employer for attending and completing the training course on their own time. A certificate of completion will be required for reimbursement as stated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement, page 32; Section 7 D “Journeyman Retraining Stipend. The stipend applies to all active Journeyman AND Apprentices.  If you are currently unemployed, it is encouraged that you complete this harassment training course to be compliant with the new California State Law.
