How To Check If Your Welding Cert Is Current

1. Go to www.AWS.org

2. Click on the Certification Box at the top of the page if using your computer. If using your phone, click the three lines on left under heading. Then click certification option.

3. Click the QUICKCHECK/VERIFY CERTIFICATIONS in the column to the right side of page. It will be the 6th option from the top on computer. On the phone, you click the box with the green check mark and “Certification Quickcheck”.

4. Click on AWS National Registry of Certified Welders Quick Check. This will be the last option on the left side of the page for computer and about the middle for phones in Bold green letters.

5. The left column, there is an option To verify Certified Welders (Ironworkers Union), Click Here.

6. Enter Welder Number in box. This will be your book number. A list of current and expired certifications will show up. If you click on the cert under the Name heading, the process will show up that you tested.

If your Certification is expired, you will have to come to the Training Center and requalify for any processes that have lapsed and will have to pay a $25 recertification fee in the form of a money order or cashier’s check made out to “IronworkersWCP”.

The most efficient way to keep your continuity is to have your foreman sign your log and check the supervisor box.

If your card is about to expire, make sure you have your continuity log filled out completely and text or email copy of it to wcp@ironworkers.org. DO THIS BEFORE YOUR CARD EXPIRES!!! If you have already sent in a copy of your expiring cert, please allow a few weeks to process at the International. At this time, they are not sending a new welder certification card.
